Grandmaster G Ong’s passion in martial arts was ignited in 1972 when he was a
young teenager who started his martial arts training in Shorin-Ryu Karate in a
small southern town of Malaysia, he later joined the famous Malaysian developed
Budokan Karate in his higher rank in the mid 70’s when he moved the capitol
city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
In the late 70’s, Dr Grandmaster G Ong came in contact with
Taekwondo while pursuing his tertiary education in Canada and was later
inspired by this Korean martial arts when he returned to Malaysia and took up
Taekwondo training under the late Grandmaster Ally CH Teoh who was one of the
earliest non-Korean Taekwondo practitioners when the late Founder of Taekwondo,
General Choi Hong Hi introduced Taekwondo to Malaysia in his first propagation
campaign in 1959 through 1962.
His scholastic aptitude drove Dr Grandmaster G Ong to study
the Taekwondo martial arts in depth and the aspects of its scientifically
developed techniques. The fact that many
movements of the original Taekwondo were developed at the physical lab of MIT
fortified such desire to continue his Taekwondo training physically and
academically for over 40 years unceasingly.
Dr Grandmaster G Ong has a rich background in the business
sector as an entrepreneur with over 35 years of business involvements in
various fields internationally. His
academic credentials are valuable foundations as he takes up the study of
martial arts in his early years with core foundation built on the Taekwondo
discipline. His acumen in people and experience in the business world have
equipped him with such attributes and traits to be a leader of the pack. Dr Grandmaster G Ong possesses such virtue
of qualities which are backed by his academic credentials, his martial arts
training, and his business experience.
